A bicycle ride in New Mexico in October 2008. The ride is an organized ride run by InMotion Events http://www.inmotionevents.net/newmexico/index.html I recommend their tours - they are well run and organized.

New Mexico Fiesta 2008

The Land of Enchantment! This tour is held during the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. A World-Class Festival that everyone should attend at least once. We lay-over in Albuqueque for a day to utilize the bike path to old downtown and attend the balloon festival (weather permitting balloon launch). After that we leave to beautiful Northern New Mexico. After traveling through the mountains we arrive in Santa Fe, home to many artists, shops and museums.

I travelled to Albuquerque a few days before the ride was scheduled to begin. Being a flat-lander, I wanted to acclimate to the altitude before starting a ride which went from 5000 feet to nearly 8000 feet.
