I spent a couple of hours at Cape Hatteras National Seashore. This place is worth another much longer visit.
Bodie Island Lighthouse
I spent some time trying to get a photograph of some of the dragon flys inhabiting the marsh. This one lighted on a reed and I was able to capture it.
Kitty Hawk, where the Wright Brothers first flew.
Stones mark the location of the distances of the 4 flights that day. The longest was 852 feet and lasted 59 seconds.
Monument on Big Kill Devil Hill. The area has been seeded so the sand dunes don't shift or disappear.
