My goal is to ride my bike in all 50 states. So far I've done quite a few. The states colored are the ones where I've ridden as of October 2009. The most recent are Arkansas (April), Vermont (June), Rhode Island (June), Alabama (September), and Delaware (October)

Only 9 more to go (Oklahoma, North Dakota, Montana, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Alaska, and Hawaii)
Bicycle Touring
Bicycle Touring is a great way to see the world. Read about the tours I've done here.![]()
Other riders often post journals about their tours on the Internet. Many are more adventuresome than I am ![]()

Recycling
I'm a volunteer for Working Bikes Cooperative. Working Bikes Cooperative recovers landfill-bound bicycles, repairs them to working condition, and sells them to Chicagoans at a low cost in order to fund shipments of bicycles and bike parts to developing countries.
I host one of several drop off points for bicycles in the Chicago area. Follow this link to see photos taken when a load is moving from my house to Working Bikes warehouse.
Invitationals
There are quite a few terrific one day invitational rides. In the Chicago area one can find an invitational nearly every weekend between May and October. Occasionally I take my camera along and have recorded those here : ![]()
In the Midwest, Mike Bentley maintains an extensive list of rides ![]()
Bike Clubs
I'm a member of several bicycle clubs. Ride schedules are posted at each of the club's web sites.
Arlington Heights Bicycle Association I've taken some club photos.
and also bicycling advocacy groups.
